Engaging The Enemy

Blinkiddies: Permission to speak freely Lord Armdagger, sir…but we are going in circles for days!

Lord Armdagger: I did not give you any permission yet you already speak up your mind.

Blinkiddies: These blind hunting can drive even an Android nuts…and that’s only about less than 5% than the overall personnel on this mission.

Lord Armdagger: I’m thinking of the same problem but on a more “humane” point of view. We are chasing shadows all over the Zelagros desert, yet the Rebels are well hidden up until now. We had no informations, no intelligence work, and no technical data of our enemies…

…the moment Lord Velther started a rebellion; we started to assemble a large fleet to snuff out the revolution fire without even thinking slightly what we are up against. Personally, I regretted that.

Silvercoated: The whole situation is getting from bad to worse. We break radio silence and shown our location to the enemy many times…strange, the enemy doesn’t seems to react to our errors.

Lord Armdagger: They are reacting; it’s just that they are not making any moves yet. Lord Velther Von Dash is a great tactician.

Blinkiddies: …much better than Lord Flame?

Lord Armdagger: Lord Flame is a great warrior…

Blinkiddies: …inside his own head.

Lord Armdagger: Another concern that I am having is that, if the situation never changed for the better…we will be steadily ran out of supplies, at worst our food and fuel will ran out. To turn back to Utopia will battered the Utopian Military Reputation badly, a result far worse than losing the battle with the rebels.

Silvercoated: Maybe that’s what the rebels are trying to do. Wait until we use up all our resources then hit us when we are at the weakest.

Lord Armdagger: I doubt that Lord Flame will be reluctant to turn back to the capital rather than purposely stranded this fleet here and let the rebels pick on starved soldier and dead ships…he may be as jelly brained as Blinkiddies have said he is, but he is no idiot when it comes to saving his own arse.

Silvercoated: He rather faces humiliation rather than go down in a blaze of glory?

Blinkiddies: He can blame anybody else for his dumb mistakes.

Lord Armdagger: He…what is tha…

(Explosions)

Silvercoated: Owwww……my eyes!

Blinkiddies: What’s happening?! What is that sound? That’s…

Silvercoated: There are a lot of noises on the radio channel! The whole fleet is in panic!

Lord Armdagger: Clear up the channels! Give me a visual! What is going on…?

(Explosions)

Silvercoated: That blast…that was close!

Blinkiddies: Clearing radio channel now sir! In five…four…three…two…

Radio Channel: …is…personnel carrier “Artemis” we were hit by…going down…osing power…I repe…are going down!

Divinekid: Missiles! Missiles everywhere! Evasive action! We are being ambushed! I repeat…we are ambushed! Battle stations!

Alonqexe: Guys? What is happening there? We are two hours from your position…what is your status…

Utopian Pilot: We are hit! We are hit! This is troop carrier “Virulence” we are loosing…titude…down…

Blinkiddies: What is happening here?!

Silvercoated: Missiles are hitting the Assault transport “Intruder” the ship is torn to pieces…they had no time to response!

Blinkiddies: ...darn! The radio's jammed. We can't communicate via radio transmission.

Lord Armdagger: switch to satellite signal...and report back to the Utopian Headquarters when you had a lock on the channels.

Silvercoated: Sir, the satellite system is searching for a signal, but it's going to take a few minutes to get a signal albeit all the jamming and weather condition...are...are you sure...?

Lord Armdagger: ...just do as i say!

Silvercoated: Yes, sir. Connecting in progress...oh my God, in fourteen minutes!

Blinkiddies: We don't have fourteen minutes!

Lord Armdagger: We don't have a choice either.

Blinkiddies: I'm cancelling the autopilot. Whoammy, Vulpine, Ravenmin...you guys better gear up cos it's gnna be one rough ride! We are at war earlier than i expected.

Silvercoated: A second wave of missiles are coming! We got flaks everywhere!

Lord Armdagger: The rebels…had made their moves!

Titans! Move Out!

Announcement: All ground assault personnel, report to hangar three immediately. Anti-air please relocates the equipments on area five-six-o-seven.

Rebel engineer: ...get those Titans ready...our pilots are going out any minute from now! The Secondary Strike Force is going out in twenty minutes! Move it!

Rebel Crewmen: Yes, sir!

Nihja: Sure is lively around here...even after all the midnight activity and the big launch, i admire the dedicatio of the rebel troops.

...for sure they ain't sloppy kind of people - even for a band of undertech rebels.

Rebel Officer: Load in those ammo to the vehicles on the double! We have war ahead of us!

Nihja: Yawn…

Milkshake: Good morning…

Nihja: I lack sleep.

Kanon: You stay awake through the night making sure things going our way, don’t you?

Nihja: I was too excited. My main concern is to ready our dummy base and assemble our troops in time of our trap.

Kanon: You need coffee?

Nihja: No, thanks...i can't stand coffee. Where's the new boy?

Kluang: Here.

Milkshake: Good morning. All have gathered right on time.

Nihja: I am punctual even if rather go to bed right now.

Kluang: So they went out…those engineers and Task Force One?

Nihja: …along with the transmitter team…our biggest bait for the fight.

Milkshake: Well, let’s get going, we have ten hours to kill to get to our starting point. You sure you won’t fall asleep on the pedal, Nihja?

Nihja: I’ll lock on to your machine and commence an auto run so I can doze off along the way. Start your machines and let’s move out of here. Kluang you are familiar with the drill right? Let’s start with you…

Milkshake: Freshman bullies...

Kanon: Hahaha...

Nihja: Cut it out both of you...Kluang, proceed...

Kluang: Engine’s are running: all green, weapon’s lock free, both bipedal hydraulics are running, life support systems are normal, controls are good. Left and right camera vision are functional…how did you get such a machine? This is like ten years more advance than any known weaponry used around the world today – even for the United Nation.

Nihja: We had the best hardware in town. ..Milkshake and Kanon, you guys done with your systems check?

Kanon: Good to go boss!

Milkshake: All green.

Nihja: Titans, form up on Milkshake. I’m going to take a long nap. Wake me up at dinner time.

Milkshake: Ha! Ha! I might drive you off the cliff!

Nihja: …yeah, right. One more thing, tune in the radio and visual channel to the Utopian News Network…from now onwards, Ume Modoki will feed us with the information on the capital via the news channel. We just need to be quick-witted to catch any hint she may be giving us onscreen.

Kluang: What?! Ume Modoki, the famous news front man celebrity? She works for you too?! Wow!

Nihja: Surprise, surprise kid.

Kluang: Gosh. The longer I’m with you guys, the more surprises I’m getting. I can’t help but wonder why you guys bothered to help a rag tag band of rebels like us. I mean, you guys had the power to even conquer the world if you wish…

Nihja: Whoa…hold your horses there, kid. Powers aren’t meant to be abuse, just like I said when I first came to your aide and talk to your big boss. We are here to offer help because we saw injustice was done on the people of this nation. Plus, we are serving our master who eventually shares the same vision and goal with your leader.

Kanon: ...connecting with control tower, testing communications link...control tower this is task for two, do you read me?

Rebel Control Tower: Loud and clear Task Force Two.

Nihja: Control Tower, this is Titan One...waiting for your clearance.

Control Tower: Roger that Titan One, evacuating personnel around the clearance area.

Nihja: Roger that.

Kanon: ...it won't take long.

Control Tower: Task Force Two this is Control Tower, all personnel had been cleared. You may proceed to the main entrance and start the mission. Good luck and good hunting out there!

Nihja: We'll do. Out. Okay guys, let's do this...moving out.

Milkshake: Titan Two moving out.

Kanon: Titan three, moving out.

Kluang: Titan Four, moving out now.

Nihja: Leaving the main entrance...leaving the base perimeter...there, disengage single line-up formation and form up on Milkshake.

Milkshake: We are commencing auto pilot. Maybe it’s time to take your precious nap, Nihja.

Nihja: Yeah…buzz me if anything. Out.

Milkshake: Sweet dreams, Titan One.

Deadline

Once again, I have to put on my mask, my costume…and run the good old show.

[Jingle]

Television Broadcast: ...and now for our national news; broadcasting LIVE from the Utopian Federation Senate Hall with Utopia's top announcer...Ume Modoki.

Ume Modoki: What was meant to be a six hours dialogue between the Utopian Senate and the Utopian Queen today has resulted into what seems to be a race against time as the Utopian Strike Forces race against the clock in hunting down the Zelagross rebel’s hideout.

…the leader of the operation Lord Flame promised the Utopian Senate earlier that he will easily beaten the rebel forces in two standard days, but as the sun sets down over the Utopian Capital an hour ago…it seems like Lord Flame and the Utopian Strike Forces still has a lot to do.

As the whole scenario drags on, the Senate once again adjourned the meeting for the day and will review the scenario tomorrow. Queen Rasa, however are somewhat less enthusiastic about the progress of her personally assembled fleet and refuses to comments whether that the fleet would be more successful tomorrow.

Queen Rasa: Soldier, get me Lord Flame on the line right now!

Soldier: …yes your majesty, but in case your highness has forgotten, the fleet has commenced radio silence since the last transmission with the Senate Assembly. Calling the fleet now might expose their current location to the…

Queen Rasa: I know what I am doing! Let the cowards commoner rebel’s run all they want! Get me Lord Flame and I mean now! I have better things to do and I have my reputation on the line here! Get to it or I personally execute you!

Soldier: …as…as…as you wi…wish your highness. Establishing communication with the Lord Flame’s Adamant.

Queen Rasa: Lord Flame!

Lord Flame: …why is it that, somehow I knew… what you might say to me even before you began to open your royal highness’s mouth!?

Queen Rasa: Two days, Flame! Two days! Now you have less than thirty six hours to deal with those commoner’s scumbag before the Senate opted for some other type of solution to end this crisis…and that’s the last thing I need to hear coming out from the Senate’s mouth when your effort ends fruitlessly!

Lord Flame: I have my own ways of dealing with those bloody rebels, and my advice to you my queen is to get out of my way and disturbing my work. The Zelagross plains are vaster than we could ever imagine. We also have no idea on the rebel’s exact whereabouts.

Queen Rasa: I never thought that someone as battle harden and a brilliant war strategist like you will have difficulties in tracking down those desert rats. Time is the essence here, Lord Flame! By any means necessary by tomorrow the fleet will engage the rebel forces or the senate might meddle with our plans to get rid of Lord Velther and his crooks.

Lord Flame: You are the ones who blatantly reassure the senate that this fleet will only take two days to crush the rebels! Now you are shoving the responsibility of your careless words to me?!

Queen Rasa: …and what happens if I don’t? You think the senate is impressed with your lack of insights and faulty leadership qualities will give you any clearance to engage the rebels in the first place?!

Lord Flame: If it’s not for me, risking the whole operation by breaking up radio silence to convince the senate by accepting war as a solution to this conflict, there will never be a fleet in the first place…and whose job is it anyway to try to persuade the senate into accepting our terms!? It’s you…yet you are unable to do so! Who is the ones that lacking in terms of leadership qualities here?!

Queen Rasa: You have one more day Lord Flame, do anything or risk losing your ranks if you fail.

The Kid: Problem?!

Lord Flame: The puppet queen had just run her mouth over my pride.

The Kid: You are that pathetic…you know.

Lord Flame: Darn those rebels! I have less than a day to get rid em! That stupid queen, how can someone possibly covers this much sands in two days?! Wait until I wrapped my hands over her brittle neck!

The Kid: You have a few more hours before the sun comes out Flame, kept on making bomb craters on the ground. Maybe you would hit something. Ha…ha…ha…

Lord Flame: Damn you!

To Be CONTINUED...like always!

The Final Briefing

Nihja: Okay guys, listen up...our battle plan is going to start as early as midnight. That's about two hours from now. But we are not going to attack the Utopian Fleet just yet. We are going to create a diversion to lure them in.

Here's what we will do...

An auxiliary force will bring in as much tech and equipment to a barren location thirty kilometres from here. The main objectives is to set up a fake Rebel Base over the area. I had personally hand-picked the area for the fake base. It's on the Northwest areas.

Lord Kane: Northwest? That place is filled with stepped mountainous terrains and jagged rocks. Little vegetation are presents which from my past knowledge concluded that the area were once a large desert oasis.

Nihja: Off course Lord Kane...jagged rocks, desert cliffs, mountains and dried up plants. The more the better. These kind of topography disrupts the enemy radar. It would take a while to clean up all the interference and pinpoint the real target is...we need all those nuisance to cover ourselves better. In fact, a difficult terrain is fitting of a rebel base. As fitting as it was underground isn't it?

Lord Kane: Sounds like a clever plan to me.

Lord Velther Von Dash: It is a brilliant plan, proceed.

Nihja: We will send Task Force One to engage the Utopian Fleet. Once located, the units will engage the enemy. Shooting down their troop transport carrier is the main priority of Task Force One.

Lord Kane: So task force One will be the unit that will fire the "one or two salvos of missiles" at the enemy and grab the enemies attention?

Nihja: Exactly.

Kluang: ...but Task Force One are mainly tracks and traction's unit. They will be chicken feed for the Utopian Fleet.

Nihja: We will attack in a Delta pattern from three sides. I hope by executing this we can minimize the loss from our first engagement. As for the escape plan, i strongly recommended that Task Force One to retreat in a disorderly fashion.

Kluang: What?!

Lord Velther Von Dash: A deception. To make the Utopian Fleet believed that the enemy that they are facing are poorly disciplined, disorganized and a bunch of weak willed fools. You did well in reading our enemies toughts there, Nihja.

Nihja: I did my homework. Lord Flame loves it when we seems to be winning. He wouldn't care any less.

Lord Kane: The big fish would take the bait. What next?

Nihja: Then we lure the fish further, to the ultimate surprise...

Lord Kane: The dummy transmitter.

Nihja: Correct. As Task Force One scatters around all over the Zelagross Plains. Part of the unit will deliberately direct the fleet towards discovering our so called "Nuclear Warhead". Imagine the panic of such a discovery knowing that the Utopian army had underestimated our capability all this time.

Lord Kane: Yes, imagine the faces of Lord Flame and Queen Rasa when they found out that we can drop nukes anytime on top of their heads...

Lord Velther Von Dash: They might end up peeing in their pants.

(laughs)

Nihja: The Utopian Fleet will be Hell-Bended towards destroying the dummy transmitter at any cost, abandoning all other possibilities in mind, that includes the possible logic that is this nothing more than a trap. The dummy transmitter will try to make a run for it...

...and the Utopian Fleet will give chase, going straight into our main forces, turrets, bases, anti air defenses and everything else we can throw at them. We will commence an "A" type formation to ensnare the Utopian Forces with the dummy transmitters team will drive the enemy fleet as deep as they can into our web.

Remnants of Task Force One will regroup and strengthened the open end of the "A" formation...preparing to close any means of exits for the Utopians.

Kluang: Task Force One won't be strong enough to hold the enemy in place...plus with all the skirmishes earlier...the back of the "A" formation will be terribly weak.

Nihja: That's where our Titans came along.

Kluang: Us?

Nihja: Yes Kluang, it's your turn to shine...The Titans or should i say...Task Force Two, will engaged the enemy from behind, joining Task Force One and seal the fate of the Utopian Fleet altogether. With nowhere to run, i hope for nothing less but victory to the Zelagross Rebels cause!...

Rebels: Nihja! Nihja! Long live Nihja! Long live Senator Tangerine! Long live Nihja! Long live Senator Tangerine!Long live Nihja! Long live Senator Tangerine!

Lord Velther Von Dash: Looks like the people already agreed to execute your plan, Nihja.

Nihja: Thank You. I am deeply honored.

Lord Velther Von Dash: Lord Kane, prepare the troops...get the troop to set up a diversion and ready Task Force One for war. Unless fate proves otherwise, the Utopian Fleet will surely be crushed by justice!

Lord Kane: Yes, my lord!

Rebels: Down with the Utopian Nobles! Down with tyranny! Down with Queen Rasa!

Divinekid

Divinekid works at the Utopian Federation Military Headquarters as an Army Intelligence Officer. She is well known for her overwhelming paperwork’s and sharp tongued demeanor. Divinekid may look like she is all office person and lacking in combat skills, the truth is she had received adequate training in all basic fighting and technical skills to have survived the fighting at Zelagross.

Divinekid never left her desk. She had never participated in any combat missions and had chosen the boring task of juggling official letters and papers rather than the adrenalin rush of going into combat. Divinekid is joining the army to earn money and what safer place in keeping herself alive than staying far away behind enemy lines.

A mysterious person infiltrated her office one night, revealing Divinekid origins are that of the Exilion race. A race that had been conquered exterminated and assimilated by the Utopian Federation during the Utopian Conquest and Conqueror period, and the possibility of her being the last of her race.

Curious, Divinekid volunteered to fly a freighter and join the Utopian Fleet on the attack at Zelagross in order to determine that the visitors warning about Zelagross being a trap is a true statement.

Exilions are a race of humanoid beings that had the ability to summon animals to come to their aide. (In this case, Divinekid’s animal calls being the Penguins) The obvious difference that an Exilion have in comparison to humans is their long sprouting ears on top of their head; almost Cat-Like and a tail at their back. The Exilions are known to hide these unique traits to avoid human detection.

Trap

Nihja: Thank you Lord Velther…it’s an honor indeed being trusted to lead the army on our first strike at the Utopian Fedration Fleet.

Kanon: …we are still in the game. That’s good news for now eh, Milkshake?

Milkshake: Yeah. I wonder what kind of battle plan Nihja’s going to put into action…

Kluang: She’s your strategist right? Excuse me but I never heard of her name being mentioned in Utopia. Well, I mean if she’s a good strategist we will usually heard about her name being mentioned here and there…you know what I mean.

Kanon: Live life easy by avoiding the fame spotlight.

Nihja: The first step, we will send out our mobile armor unit at early dawn. The light armor division will carry out reconnaissance task and keep watch over the fleet movement from afar. To avoid detection, our technician crew will coat the vehicle engine section with heat sinks and tile plating.

…the heavier unit will set up long range remote operated missile launchers. We will use that as an ambush points.

Rebel Soldier 1: We are using all of our missile resources?

Nihja: …enough for two salvos.

Rebel Soldier 2: …but we can’t damage the enemy enough with two salvos.

Nihja: We are not going to kill them off with two rounds of missiles. It’s a miracle if the remote launcher can even launch a second strike for the enemy will pinpoint the location after the first wave…if we use more than two; it’s just a waste of ammo.

Rebel Soldier 1: The target?

Nihja: Target the Utopian Transport ONLY.

Lord Kane: Excuse me Nihja, but most of the troops transport craft are unarmed and are of little threat to us in the skies. I believe it’s unethical to shoot down an unarmed transport before it ever gets to the ground.

Kluang: I heard that you can’t shoot at paratroopers before they safely touched the ground…

Milkshake: Will you let them?

Nihja: …if you let them touch the ground, half a million troops will be charging towards our base; tell me if that doesn’t sound like a big threat to us. That transport is the bulk of the Utopian Fleet. Once we rid of them, it’s easier to tackle those bigger capital ships with every anti air gun that we have.

Rebel Soldier 2: …two salvos of Surface-To-Air Missiles won’t wipe out the whole transports.

Nihja: No, but its enough for us to lead them into a bigger trap that we are going to prepare for them. ..an array of multiples anti air arsenal with no way out.

Kluang: Sound like a decent plan. What shall we use as bait then?

Kanon: The missiles aren’t bait enough?

Nihja: Nope. The missiles are just attention grabber. We need a convoy of dummy truck to lure them in.

Lord Velther Von Dash: Excuse me Nihja, but…what so special about this convoy of dummy trucks?

Nihja: When I came here to offer aid for the Zelagross, I requested that I’ll be given a chance to try a special device.

…this, my friends is a signal transmitter. What so special about this transmitter is that when you run your scanning device over it, it transmit a false identification – identification that will never fail to catch the enemy’s attention.

Lord Kane: What in this world would be so irresistible, I wonder?

Rebel Officer 3: I’ll bet that the Utopian Fleet will be head over heels over a truckload of free food. They had been forever running in circles searching for our base…they should be very, very hungry right now.

(Laughs)

Nihja: Does “Nuclear Warhead” sounds appetizing enough?

Lord Kane: Holy…

Kluang: Where did you guys get these kinds of things?!

Kanon: You need to have a lot of business contacts around the world you know, instead of just limiting your trade with your sovereign nations only.

Milkshake: Kanon…sometimes opinions bring more harm than good.

Kanon: Promised me you guys chance the economic policies once you toppled the current government.

Milkshake: Geez…

Lord Velther Von Dash: We will take that into consideration. We need to win this big one first.

Lord Kane: Shall we proceed?

Nihja: Yes. Well, let say the Utopian Fleet took the bait…

Lord Velther Von Dash: …any chances they won’t?

(Laughs)

The Voice of The People

Lord Velther Von Dash: There are a few announcement that I have to make before we started this briefing…one; we are going to go out there and kick those Utopian Noble Fleet out of the skies!

Rebels: Down with the Utopian Nobles! Down with tyranny! Down with Queen Rasa!

Lord Velther Von Dash: I would also like to express my deepest gratitude and thanks to all who had willingly joined our cause, be that the lords who set aside their personal interest and put the interest of the people above everything else and the people whose determined to make a change, to fight for their freedom and rights over oppression and corruption of Queen Rasa and her cronies.

Rebels: Down with the Utopian Nobles! Down with tyranny! Down with Queen Rasa!

Kanon: So we finally going to war then?

Kluang: The sooner the better. Right now I feel like taking the whole Utopian Fleet myself.

Lord Velther Von Dash: …the road of truth and justice is difficult. When we stand by what we believed we are tested to our limits. When we are fighting Queen Rasa’s oppression towards the people my pleas were rejected on court level…then came the restrictions, banning, threats and warnings. When these methods failed to silence the people’s voices, the Utopian Nobles started become more aggressive. They declared martial law, imprisonment, brutal interrogation’s…executions. We, the people can’t take any more…so we made that difficult choice to revolt against the hideous queen and started this rebel movement here at Zelagross.

Kanon: It somehow feels like a history lesson, does it not?

Milkshake: …can you keep quiet for at least a few minutes or so?

Kanon: I can’t help it. I was tempted to comment on things I witnesses.

Milkshake: …or criticize, mind you.

Lord Kane: …the road of justice may be treacherous, but the rewards are many. People might not rally to your cause in an instant, but when they see the burning passion and the righteousness of our path in protecting the rights of our people, friends gradually flocked to our sides…offering aide, providing support and joining our rightful cause. The people will begin to slowly open their eyes and get up on their feet seeing the evil that had been done upon them and decided for themselves it is now! Now is the time to take actions!

Rebels: No more oppression! No more injustice! Long live the people!

Kluang: My heart is filled with emotions!

Milkshake: …

Kanon: Here, some tissues.

Kluang: Thank you! Sniff…sniff…!

Kanon: You’re such a softie!

Lord Kane: …and now, it is an honor to have with us an experience officer that will lead us to victory and beyond. To help us and device the perfect strategy to defeat the oppressor’s that is now violating our territory…we will drive them back, all the way back to Utopia! Nihja, loyal servant of Senator Tangerine who is well known for her concern for the people’s welfare will lead us in our assault!

Rebels: Nihja! Nihja! Long live Nihja! Long live Senator Tangerine! Long live Nihja! Long live Senator Tangerine!Long live Nihja! Long live Senator Tangerine!

Kanon: Long live Nihja! Long live Senator Tangerine!

Milkshake: Long live Nihja! Long live Senator Tangerine!

Kluang: Look who are the emotional ones now…

Kanon: Awww…come on! Just chant!

Milkshake: Long live Nihja! Long live Senator Tangerine!
