The Funny Signs

While i was on the road taking indoor pictures for future AIC CHRONICLES project, I've encountered some pretty interesting and hilarious misspelled signboards at a construction sites. I hope nobody get hurt just by misinterpreted what the sign has to say.

I can tell, amidst all the mistakes. How about you? Go figure!

They should be given some credit for trying. Notice that the notice on the first picture is missing the letter "A". While on the second picture, there's an extra "A" being written on one of the sentences. That extra "A" ruined the sentence.

I was wondering if the letter "A" from the first picture jumped to the notice board on the second picture, ruining both signs in the process!

If this is true, is that "A" a living organism or maybe an outside of this world Transformers "in-disguise"?

Maybe Tailgunner think to much!

Ah...on the road again!

The midyear strikes back! The busy'ness of business had the AIC CHRONICLES progress goes on halt for quite some time. I am entering the first of my two week on-duty trip all over the continent. No time for AIC posting at all. I am away....from my desktop.

I drive hundreds of miles...stayed in almost five funny looking inns and hotels, passing through countless...you figure out yourself judging from the pictures!

The inevitable side effects of watching much to many Malaysian horror movie. On the informative level, these here are one of few existing graves that works like a drawer! You placed the coffin inside the concrete cemetary, cement it up and smash up the walls after a few years to gather the bone for cremation. Good thing is your family member can recycled the same spot over an over again for generations.

Aye...driving through every cities in Sarawak is the same as going up and down the Peninsular states of Malaysia. YAWN....get yourself a spare driver.

The chain of unfortunate events tops up with the destruction of my beloved camera. I was comfortable making micro shots using the Canon S90. Now afer years of service it finally broke down...or should i say, drowned to death (it fell into my toilet bowl!)

All i can do for now is to gather future scripts so i can speed up the posting process (are we having another future marathon? DEFINETLY!) until all business affairs are settled and after looking for a new replacement Digital Camera.

That will be, another week from now...but hang on folks! Promising krazy multi-billion new post once i get my hands on that desktop! AaarrrRR!!!!

The Lazy Song

Today i don't feel like doing anything.
I just wanna lay in my bed.
Don't feel like picking up my phone.
So leave a message at the tone.
'Cause today I swear I'm not doing anything.

I think you folks have quite bit the rough picture of what kind of situation that i am in for this week. HaHaHa! Maybe with all other works and obligation been shoving onto my workdesk i have little time to spare yet for AIC.

If i do have time to spare it's all dedicated for rest. I am taking a break from AIC and the next post marathon will be on this coming Thursday.

Take 5

How do you guys like our marathon post? does it help speeds up the whole story a bit? Ha...ha...yes, the story is quite lenghty. Sorry readers! That's the way the story meant to be.

There are more events and story that needs to be told...err...post. Rest assured that we are getting more and more action with every new update because the flashbacks, the history lessons is all behind us now.

One or two characters already shown us their fighting skills! ain't that sweet? We are hoping to depict the battle scene as closely and as realistic as we all can.

I would like to thank our auxilary crew for working on this speed marathon and end up with not enough sleep at night, updating and updating and keep on updating the stories! Yeah! Again, thanks guys!

The readers and AIC members: thank you for still reading, commenting and supporting us all the way!

A happy God Friday and happy fasting!

Test and Trial...

While waiting for the next episode marathon, let us indulge our mind and feast our eyes on the laments and share the pains that the AIC crew had to face while making the story possible week by week, month after month...all these years. Yeah...check it out!

1. Budget

The crew had a limited budget. The figma, props and additional equipments cost around RM500 a month. When we need a special order on any of the potent equipment needed for the next prop, the budget will go higher:

Spray Paint + Figmas + Additional Props (Background) + Additional Props (Wool Material) + Additional Props (Vehicles) + Transportation + Food = Headache

Working on cutting down cost, the crew use repetitive shots (25%), recycled and repainted some old props, scavenging part using their own imagination, using paper craft as substitute and going from Tamiya Paint which cost around RM30 to Anchor Spray paint that cost us just RM7.

We rejected the idea of using copycat non genuine Made In China Figma copy because this will degrades the quality of our work. We still have pride! Execute those who tried to give us such stupid idea!

Eat for free, if got the chance! The crew save a lot of money by letting other people do the paying. Use this method as a last resort. The crew conserve 20% more budget on props just by leaving it up to the welfare of the people. Most importantly...

No matter how "pokai" you are in the end, never try to borrow money from Ah Lung shark! This is an independent, free for all, fun project. We are trying to have a good time and avoid all the extra unwanted trouble.

2. Weather

The second difficulties that we brave men and women must endure is the extreme weather. Hot or cold, humid or dry...the weather sometimes took a large toll on the crew ability to perform during outdoor takes.

Hot weather brings epidemic and sickness while the rainy days give risk of cancellation of shoots and ruin the schedules dry scenes.

3. A Spooky Encounter.

During one of our outdoor scene takes, i decided to take my people to the Batu Lintang Teacher's Institute. Formerly a Japanese POW camp, this place hopefully will give us a lot of good dungeon type scenes because of the pre-World War II gritty concrete structures.

We pay tribute to the past before proceeding with our work.

As we went near a historic spot: The Punjabi Bunker. Something DOES NOT FEEL RIGHT. Instead of going inside the bunker, we decided to look for other alternative location.

A friend of mine was muttering "calm down, we are not here to disturb you. We just want to take pictures..." with that he snap a few shoots at the Punjabi Bunker exterior and main entrance door.

We went home.

The next day the phone rang. The friend that snap some shots on the Punjabi Bunker rang me up. "You need to see the pictures that i took on the Batu Lintang Punjabi Bunker. I think i caught something."

Soomeethiingg....

Now, did you see anything in this picture? Make it bigger! Look at the doorway entrance. Did you saw that human form standing there in white?

Where?

Did you see the humanoid form? Apparitions! As spooky as it looks, i was excited. I kept the images for personal reference. True or false or even lens trick, we dont get such phenomenon everyday.

It does makes us felt uneasy. We stopped outdoor shootings for a week to calm our wits down.

4. Murder!

The most recent problem that we had to face is MURDER!

Police find body of man at construction site - The Star Online

KOTA SAMARAHAN: A dead man was found in the middle of a construction site at Sungai Kuap, Jalan Kuching-Kota Samarahan.

Police was informed by a member of the public at around 1.50pm yesterday, and a forensics team was dispatched to the scene shortly after.

A motorcycle was found 30m from the body, and a stick, believed to have been used as a weapon, was retrieved nearby.

Kota Samarahan police chief DSP Abdul Rahman Ahmad confirmed that the deceased was a 23-year-old from Tabuan Melayu, and police had classified the case as murder.

DSP Abdul Rahman said the victim was not robbed and that he had obvious injuries to the forehead, mouth, and a few broken teeth scattered beside him.

“At this moment, we want to know the cause of death first before we can identify the weapon used on the victim.

“The stick found at the scene is believed to be the weapon, but we’re still investigating,” he said.

DSP Abdul Rahman said the estimated time of the murder was last night.

The body was taken to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) mortuary for post mortem.

Someone was found dead at our figma photographic location!

I asked one of my buddies to confirm on this situation...

...and yes, to our dismay, the murder took place at the same location where we always had our Figma's outdoor scene takes.

Why someone had to die there!

Now we need to look for a new open field to continue.

Budget + Weather + Spiritual Suprise + CSI there are many obstacles, ahead of the AIC Crew.

...we held up high, we will survive!
Pointing at our fate and into the stars!

Go AIC GO!!!!!

Bad Sunday Start

I woke early on Sunday the fifth. I had these urge to go out that early Sunday morning, grab my Digital Camera and drove by to my nearest hot spot that very 5.30pm.

The whole street was dark, no doubt people are still in their beds. I quickly grab my sweater and a small bottle of iced water from the fridge. I left my mobile phone, thinking that i won't be needing it since i was out for a quick morning AIC figma shots.

I grab the figma's, pop in the Cd's and pump up the car stereo. I had no idea what fate had in stored for me that day!

I arrived at my fav place, some place far from the main road; a remote area with gravel road. I decided to swerve my car but ended overdoing the turn making my car falls full frontal into an unseen muddy rain made ditch.

It was still dark, frantically i wrestle in the mud trying to wedge my car out by placing planks and stones under the sunken tires. The whole car didn't even nudge...instead the wheels dig deeper almost reaching the car headlight section. I decided to stop. This is not going to work.

I opted for a tow truck. A number of a tow truck service was just sticking my car windshield but to my horror i didn't bring along my mobile phone. I waved at every passing motorist, screaming for help and asking them to stop. At the very least one of them wouldn't mind borrowing them their mobile phone.

If anybody cared to stop. None did.

I fully understand if the lone motorcyclist decided not to stop for me. I might be some kind of a pretentious robber. As a matter of fact i was there on the roadside while my car was somewhere in the wilderness - getting stuck in the mud. But what about the ones accompanied by a passenger? You got your friends to watch your backs for you while you are trying to check the situation out.

Maybe they assumed that i had a whole army of robbing bandits hiding for them in the bush?

I continued waving, some waved back...others mumble a few words back at me as they drove by, surprisingly some start increasing their speed! No one stopped. I went back into the country road looking for some village or house, there's a couple of huts but there are no occupants present. I turn back again to the main road...

There i saw an old Chinese man busily stamping a few empty aluminium cans that he collected from the side of the streets. I approach him cautiously; afraid that he might get a shocker of his life jump on his bike and rode away. I told him my troubles, asked him if he had any mobile phone with him - he said nay...

However he agreed to drove me to a nearby gas station and try to make my call from there...we ride for a few miles, get a hang on a phone and dial up the tow guy. The tow truck came and the rest was self explanatory.

That guy is a lifesaver - i had to pay 80 bucks for the towing service.

Since i was in a lot of mess that day i decided to stay put and finish my business photographing the bloody figma's. I was halfway there!

So guys ,never leave your mobile phone no matter how short or how brief your journey might be. Avoid the hassle. I waved liked a madman for hours just to borrow a damn mobile phone.
