Lifting the Eternal Silence

Ume Modoki: The Utopian Fleet continues to suffer heavy losses. It is estimated that as of now – three hours into the fighting with the Zelagross Rebels lead by Lord Velther Von Dash, over twelve Utopian Troop Carriers had been shoot down. That’s a total number of twelve thousand military personnel lost.

Tangerine: I heard enough…how about you Super Spectre?

Super Spectre: …looks like the battle has begun. We know little about Nihja’s and her team real situation right now, but one thing is for sure…those Zelagross Rebels are attacking the Utopian Fleet according to plan. It is…right? They did it because Nihja told them to right?

Tangerine: The missiles are a twenty year old Type-A47 Anti-Air Missiles. No ordinary missiles can reach that high of an altitude. The Utopian Troop carrier can reach a maximum climb of 40,000ft. A normal conventional missile works affectively within the range of 15,000ft…and extra 3,000ft more if it was fired from a fighter aircraft.

The Type-A47 can reach over 50,000ft firing from the ground alone. Nihja has requested these warheads to be fitted to the Zelagross ground combat vehicles if the negotiations with Lord Velther produced positive results…that apart from requesting the deliverance of the Titans and two additional Eastern Empires personnel: Milkshake and Kanon in joining her for the Titan assault at the peak of the battle.

Super Spectre: Uh-huh…well, you know how skeptical I am about this kind of stuff and for me, if I see no Titans I see no Nihja.

Tangerine: I will open all transmission to rest of the crews in ten minutes. Get yourself ready Spectre.

Deadbird: Reppu, this whole place is gone haywire. Amidst the chaos, the people responsible of attacking the Southern Sentry might take advantage of the confusion and sneak into the hall to assassinate the queen.

Reppu Kiri: Thanks to the queen, there’s riot outside of the Utopian Metropolitan already. Commoners, of course.

Deadbird: The outside…is none of your concern. Commence interrogation on the survivors immediately. We are running out of time.

Reppu Kiri: Okay. Officer, how are the survivors doing in the sick bay, are they ready to talk.

Officer: One of them seems to be all right while the other one still seems to be in a pretty bad shape.

Deadbird: One should be enough to do the talking at this moment.

Reppu Kiri: Right. I will see him in the sick bay. Officer, keep watch and stay alert.

Officer: Yes sir.

Super Spectre: Uh…Tangerine…do you read me? I think there’s some kind of busy activity going on around me right now. Guards come pouring out of their tent…and…uh-oh…

Tangerine: what happened?

Super Spectre: I can see a Medical Officer talking to one of the sentries…

Tangerine: …and?

Super Spectre: Looks like they are coming this way…

Rallying the People

Perebum XS: Bring those machine guns…careful with the explosives…we have thirty minutes to go…get going guys!

Commoners 1: Yes captain! We are moving as fast as we can!

Commoners 2: Yeah! Let’s show those Nobles and the shitty queen our piece of mind.

Bada: Captain? You? A motivated lot.

Perebum XS: If not for the broadcasting signal from Winterberry, these guys had been long storming the heart of the Utopian Federation capital.

Bada: Everyone is so eager to fight.

Perebum XS: They just want to kick some arrogant noble’s arse…that’s all. I am truly glad that Nihja made it…I mean, the negotiation with the Zelagross rebels and all that. Watching the last broadcast really shook the stress away from my shoulders.

Bada: Yes, me too. Although I couldn’t see any Atlantian units participating in the footage…

Perebum XS: This is just the early stage of the attack. The Titans are merely following the battle plan. They will wait for the time to strike and wipe the enemy out from the back after the rebels successfully lure the Utopian Fleet into a trap.

Commoners 1: The guns are loaded and we are ready to go, sir. We will wait for the “Go” signal.

Commoners 2: We are currently sixty people strong…but armed to the teeth. I believe more commoners will rally to our cause as we progress through our mission. I’m sure they will.

Commoners 1: Yeah! The revolution starts today!

Bada: Please refrain yourself from unnecessary killings.

Commoners 2: Don’t worry about that, sis.

Bada: So Perebum XS…where do we strike first?

Perebum XS: According to plan we will destroy the Utopian Capital Military post and strategic reserves first. Ammunition Depot, Air Force, Main Headquarters and if possible, hitting out their defense mechanism and army reserves. As we had done this, we move out to eliminate smaller targets;

Police Forces, Home Defenses, Volunteers…the list goes on.

Bada: Well said.

Commoners 1: It’s was kind of weird that we are not crippling the capital important non-military targets like the power generators, communication system or the fuel depot.

Perebum XS: There is no need for that. We are not taking over a nation. We just need to get rid of Queen Rasa tyranny over the common folk.

Bada: We need electricity. The rest of our forces do…and knocking down the Communication Centre…in short we will have a communication blackout amongst ourselves and the outside world. I mean…what’s the use of a communication blackout if we are trying to gather sympathy and support from the outside.

Commoners 1: You guys think other nations will support our cause?

Perebum XS: it’s a blind shot but we can hope for the best. The Nobles versus Commoners issue is already gain worldwide attention…the fate of this second largest and most powerful nation hangs in the balance.

Commoners 2: Geez, I never had thought of that…heheheh…all this while I was thinking of nothing but overthrowing that evil good for nothing queen.

Commoners 1: Honestly I have no idea what to do right after…

Perebum XS: Well, you can start by having a think on the best candidate to replace the tyrannical queen when we succeeded in overtaking the city.

Bada: You are encouraging them…Perebum XS.

Perebum XS: …a useful tip so they don’t repeat the mistakes that their leaders made in the past.

Bada: Heh…whatever you say there. We are good to go? Others might have begun their work already. Tangerine...is heading towards the Senate Hall as we speak.

Perebum XS: You worry too much about her. She can take care of herself pretty well…but what you say is true, we should be going by now. Load the truck guys!

Commoner 1: Okay!

Commoner 2: Aye-aye Captain!

Perebum XS: Here we go Bada.

Bada: Good luck too all of us.

Commoners: Let's go! Into the truck! We have a score to settle.

A Slight Change of Plans

Milkshake: If my calculation is correct, Task Force one started the attack about five hours earlier than the expected time that we all agreed upon.

Nihja: Lord Kane is ruining five hours of my good sleep.

Kanon: He ruined our great outdoor campfire plans as well!

Nihja: …I wouldn’t have counted that if I were you.

Kanon: why are they commencing the attacks early? Why can’t they wait five hours more?

Nihja: The same reason for any great battle plan. There was never perfection when commencing a large scale war.

Kanon: This is a large scale war?

Nihja: I never had been to anything larger. You want a great war stories, go ask Prime Minister Tangerine.

Kluang: There are a lot of maybe’s guys…the Task Force may have encountered the Utopian Fleet earlier than expected…maybe the Utopian Fleet had increased its movement speed that they collided with our forces early…

Milkshake: Maybe they took a detour…maybe the missiles team feeling trigger happy, maybe the big fat Troop Carrier looks tempting enough that nobody can resist firing them down at that particular moment.

Nihja: Is it I or I sense sarcasm in your tone there, milkshake?

Milkshake: Go figure.

Nihja: You don’t show a bad attitude in front of your senior officer either, Milkshake.

Milkshake: The point is no matter what the reason for the early assault on the Utopian Fleet doesn’t matter. Lord Kane…Lord Velther even, should have a good enough reason to act using the best options available when they encountered the enemy. We on the other hand just need to readjust and improvised on the situation.

Kluang: Yeah…the lords aren’t combat rookies you know.

Nihja: …and we can’t beam in any sorts of transmission asking about it either, for the enemy might get a lock on our position. There goes my beauty sleep…we will change course and head for the striking point right away.

Kanon: Roger. Changing course, now.

Nihja: Well, Winterberry already broadcasted the battle here. I’ll take that Tangerine and the other already assumed that we, despite starting the fight a little bit too early had already begun their initial attack plans.

We don’t want too ruined the whole sync. It may pose some risk for our people at the Utopian main capital…we won’t allow such risk.

Kluang: Judging from the whole situation, this ought to be quick picking. Gosh…we might not need the transmitter to lure them into the trap at all…with those long range missiles you guys supplied to us and the foolish Utopian Fleet lacking air cover fighters, Task force One might single-handedly ends the fight right here, right now.

Nihja: regardless…we will be ready at our stations…just in case.

Kluang: Huh…just in case what?

Nihja: Just in case…heavens intervenes.

The Causes

Tangerine: …now, do you understand why I can’t just take the scroll and leave quietly?

…understand why that even our original mission did not prioritize the needs to confront the Utopian Queen, I still had to make sure this nation crumbles and burned down to the ground….never to rise up again from the ashes of its destructions.

…for the sake of the world future, this nation must be purged of its sins…the endless conflict, struggle for power…even more power that they can even comprehend. Corrupted, they try to become what they are not and try to hold on to things that are steadily slipping away from their grasp. Dissolution, blinded fools.

If this nation continues to stand strong in the surface of the planet…being allowed to grow even stronger with every blood spilled from every conflict, every conquest…never ends…

Even if we managed to retrieve the stolen scroll, with people as evil and black hearted as Queen Rasa being left alive…

How can I ignore this potential threat? How can I leave the Utopian Nation be in this unsettled condition?!

…one day they thirst for blood and conquest will lead them to our doorstep and brings death and despair to the lands we gave so much to protect. I will not allow this to happen! Utopia and Queen Rasa must not be spared!

Senate: Murderer! Don’t you ever think you can do what you want simply because you are the rightful leader of the Utopian Federation! Without the Commoners, the Utopian Nation will never reach its current state. The Commoners had sacrificed so much in shaping this nation and yet, you and your arrogant Nobles continue to…

Queen Rasa: she forgotten to address my title while speaking to me, officer. Shoot her too.

Senate: What…arghhhh!!!

Queen Rasa: Good job. I hope I have made myself clear…to the rest of you miserable lot…that I, Queen Rasa will restore the old balance between the Nobles and Commoners like what it was used to be. I had enough of this “Commoners Equal Share” nonsense.

…the new order is simple, no Senates, no representatives…just the ruler the nobles and the people. The Commoners will obey the Nobles…and the Nobles will make sure that the commoner shares a common goal. The Utopian goal.

The Nobles shall serve me as it was the Commoners served the Nobles. This has been the way of the Utopian Nations for centuries!

Commoners: This is terrible! Queen Rasa will enslave us all!

Queen Rasa: …for those who tried to resist my leadership, I will purge your unthankful souls with the might of my most loyal and trusted Utopian Military Fleet. I will defeat any foes with the force of this mighty armada!

…the armada that will wipe out all resistances, that will crush any rebels, traitors and enemies threatening the dignity of this nation…watch as this fleet swathed every opponent in its path!

Ume Modoki: Satellites images and battle recordings are coming in…decoding. Viewers, we will be directing you to the warzone LIVE as at this moment…

Queen Rasa: Be the first to witness the resurrected might of my glorious army!

Tangerine: The satellite images are coming in…

Super Spectre: … don’t let us down now, Nihja.

Michii: …no matter if she succeeds or fail, the streets will be littered with Utopian bodies tonight. That, I swear!

Perebum XS: Give us war.

Ajica: …what’s this? There’s a small amount of electrical readings going to some of the library chambers.

Bada: Do a cleanup on the readings…some of them might be automated power supply while others are backups.

Ajica: Satellite images on the Zelagross battlefield topography is transmitting in in three…

Ain Khairi: …two…

Kanbei: …one.

Ume Modoki: Video and audio at full, ladies and gentlemen; we are now connected with the Utopian Fleet in Zelagross LIVE via the Utopian Military Satellite!

Queen Rasa: Behold! My pillars of hope! My sword of justice! My…

Troop Carrier 1: …this is the troop carrier Vulture! There are so many missile lock! We can’t evad…arghhhhh!!!!

Troop Carrier 2: Mayday…mayday…what do you mean we have no air cover…at this rate they are going to shoot us down one by one!

Troop Carrier 3: Who is in command? Where is Lord Flame…don’t tell me he’s fleeing the war zone…I have ten missiles on my tail!

Troop Carrier 4: …there’s nothing we can do…there’s nothing we can do…we are dead!

Queen Rasa: What is this? What is this image that I am seeing…this can’t be right! Why our fleet suffering so much from Lord Velther and his rebel forces!?

Senates: … (Whispers)

Queen Rasa: This is not the real footage! This must be a scam! A hoax image that was meant to sabotage my honor!

Django: Well this is surprising indeed…looks like things aren’t that easy as Flame expect it would be.

Amenz: Like the rebels are going to resist the Utopian Army with sticks and stones…huh! Flame is a fool if he’s planning for an easy picking.

Django: The retaliation was expected, but to have this much firepower and proper planning on the rebel side…it was a feat worth admiration indeed. Lord Velther Von Dash is a renowned leader and a worthy commander…but to have mustered a force capable of holding on its own against the Utopian Fleet, Lord Velther sure have a lot of resources to spend.

Amenz: Maybe he’s been saving up for this occasions.

Django: No…Lord Velther declaration to rebel against Queen Rasa was quick and sudden…he may have been rallying support, but finance was never gained in a nighttime’s notice. Someone filthy rich has joined his party…rich enough to buy him all the good combat hardware.

Amenz: …say if Flame goes down in a blaze of glory, maybe we should make some kind of preparations for a new candidate for Badlands representative.

Django: If Flame dies, Queen Rasa dies, there will be no Badlands. No Utopia Federations.

Amenz: Ouch…that’s bad. Maybe we should join the United Nations then.

Ume Modoki: People of the Utopian Federation, you are now witnessing the Utopian Federation Fleet currently engaging the Zelagross Rebels. The footage that you see right now is the uncut and unedited version of the events currently happening right at this moment at the Zelagross Plains.

Queen Rasa: …shut it off!

Officer: Your majesty?

Ume Modoki: …as far as the scenario goes, the Zelagross Rebels seems to be having an advantage over the disoriented and unprepared Utopian Fleet. I believe the engagement that we saw right now must have been a planned ambush made by the rebels who had most probably expected the incoming fleet from intentional leaked unsecure transmissions and lacking in battle planning.

Queen Rasa: Stop the news from transmitting! Stop the news!

Officer: Ma’am the news was broadcasted under your permissi…

Queen Rasa: Then cancelled THAT order! Stop the news for God’s sake!

Officer: Yes your majesty. You there, bring a few guards to the UNN broadcasting room and stop the broadcast!

Officer 2: Yes sir!

Ume Modoki: The Utopian Fleet is currently under heavy missile barrage by the rebel resistance. The Zelagross Rebels seems to be targeting the fleet’s troop carriers due to the threat of a ground assault. The Utopian fleet seems to be lacking in air cover superiority and anti-air missiles equipment. Is this due to the fact that the fleet had been hastily put together and that this weakness had been overlooked…or is this blunder shows the weakness in the fleet overconfidence leadership that the rebels are all this time being portrayed as ill-equipped, disorganized and underpowered?

…ask yourself Utopians, from what you see right now…will this be an eye opener for the Utopian Nobles in not to take the Commoners capability to wage war against it’s on master – even to the point of even winning the conflict.

Queen Rasa: Open channel to the Utopian Fleet! Flame! What in hell is Lord Flame doing?! Why has he not fighting back?!

Officer: We are trying to locate the Adamant, my queen…

Amenz: That’s it…Flame is dead.

Django: The queen is pissed.

Amenz: I have a feeling that the Senates and the Commoners out there are enjoying watching this…

Django: They might get motivated and starts trouble. I don’t care much about what’s going on out there; the Utopian grunts can handle that, keep an eye on the commoner’s representative Senates…don’t hesitate if they try to do something funny.

Amenz: Like?

Django: Starting a riot.

Amenz: What about our orders? The queen?

Django: We settled them both and run for our lives.

Amenz: I like that.

Light The Fire

[Jingle]

Television Broadcast: ...and now for our national news; broadcasting LIVE from the Utopian Federation Senate Hall with Utopia's top announcer...Ume Modoki.

Ume Modoki: …and finaly after days of fruitless efforts and discouraging results, we believed that the Utopian Fleet had their first engagement against the Zelagross Rebels just twenty minutes ago. Although the Utopian News Network had no access firsthand over the battleground, we are given permission to broadcast LIVE satellite footage over the area…

…we are currently waiting for the signal…and it looks like the Senate Hall is once again filled with anxious Senates who are eagerly waits for the latest update on the campaign. The Utopian Queen is going for the main podium…she is about to address the Utopian Senate.

Queen Rasa: A very good day, ladies and gentlemen…a very good day indeed for all of us Utopians. Two days ago, we sat and waited. Miserable faces, doubtful faces painted on each of every one of your faces.

The Senates in their complete confidence has ruled out early that the invasion plan…MY PLAN would be nothing less than a failure. My plan will deepen the conflict between the Commoners and the Nobles further…that it will create more damage than good…

…there are never a moment of peace to begin with, for the commoners had always took advantage over the sympathetic nature of the Nobles. To create more confusion, to get hold on the power that newer theirs at the beginning. The conflict between the commoners and the Nobles had never for the better you foolish senates! Remember that! There are only delusions, delusions that commoners and Nobles of Utopia lives in harmony and co-existed, side by side for centuries!

…today, we end this delusion. Nobles are the masters…the commoners can die for it, cry for it, struggle on their hands and feet for it…but a commoner will forever be commoners! If there any commoners out there dare to cross that line, dare to question the rights of their masters…the answer will be; severe punishment.

Senate: The Senate was found to create a good understanding between the Commoners and the Nobles, so that the people, no matter what status standing they possessed in the Utopian hierarchy…can work together for the better future of Utopia!

Queen Rasa: The Nobles is the Utopian future…the commoners must obey.

Senate: …nonsense!

Queen Rasa: Nonsense? I am the queen of Utopia. I have the right to rule this land, I have the power to raise fleets, to wage war against whomever stands in my way…and to even to choose NOT to listen to your bickering. A Senate…you, what power do you have over me?

Senate: The Senate makes sure that the Head of State, the King or Queen – YOU, did not make any foolish decisions in deciding this nation’s future!

Queen Rasa: and as the ruling figure, a queen…do I have to listen?

Senate:

Queen Rasa: I can choose to ignore you…I can choose not to listen to the Senates at all. The Senates power is irrelevant in the face of the Noble and Commoners system.

Senate: You cannot deny the Senate’s acting as the ruler’s advisor!

Queen Rasa: A ruler can choose to listen to what his or her advisor’s opinion over discussed matters and issues, but as a common folk, say…you there officer! Come over here…

Officer: Your majesty?

Queen Rasa: …yes, you. Shoot that Senator.

Officer: Ma’am?

Senate: What do you think you are doing?!

Queen Rasa: A common folk can never refuse the will of the ruler. Officer, I command you…shoot the senator.

Officer: Yes your Majesty!

Senate: No...you can't...

BLAMMM!!!!!

Senate: Arghhhhh!!!!!!

Queen Rasa: ...the rest of the Senates had anymore complaints about my authority...please step forward.

Django: The queen had gone mad…

Amenz: …at least she’s doing the dirty job for us.

Django: If she’s start ordering her troops to fire this way…

Amenz: Her anger is that of the senate representing the commoners.

Django: …in a case of “IF”.

Amenz: Her throat is ours to take in the end.

Ume Modoki: What is this? Queen Rasa had ordered her troops to fire upon the Utopian Senates! The whole building had become a massacre ground!

Sanji-Q: What is the queen doing?! Deadbird are you watching this?

Deadbird: I see it, Sanji…but this scenario is way beyond our jurisdiction.

Sanji-Q: …way beyond our…you got too be kidding me. Queen Rasa is out there killing people. The political figures of the Utopian society…The Senates!

Deadbird: Our order is to protect the queen from harm’s way. Do you understand…Sanji?

Sanji-Q: At least we need to stop the unnecessary killing…

Deadbird: Get a grip Sanji!

Sanji-Q: I…I…understand.

Yuusuke: Man, the queen screwed up.

Perebum XS: Easy there Michi. It may be just a normal broadcast…remember, Nihja objectives is to start a fight with the Utopian Fleet…THEN we can carry out with the plan. Tha’s the signal we are looking for. That is the clue.

Michii: Then I hope this broadcast bring us our war song…for I am tired of waiting. I am also very concern about Nihja’s safety.

Perebum XS: Ah…of course. We all do. Let’s get our finger crossed and pray that Winterberry delivers us the good news we are waiting for. Now if you could increase the volume please.

Michii:

[Jingle]

Television Broadcast: ...and now for our national news; broadcasting LIVE from the Utopian Federation Senate Hall with Utopia's top announcer...Ume Modoki.

Bada: What is it Ajica? Did you found anything on the runaway librarian?

Ajica: Errr…no, but there is a live broadcast going on the Utopian News Network.

Phantome: …could it be…

Bada: …it could be. Ajica, check for power readings and electrical spikes around the Library perimeter. Best bet that the running and hiding librarian must be also tuning to the live broadcast. Pinpoint her location and narrow it down as best as you could.

Ajica: Copy.

[Jingle]

Television Broadcast: ...and now for our national news; broadcasting LIVE from the Utopian Federation Senate Hall with Utopia's top announcer...Ume Modoki.

Kanbei: Huh? A special LIVE broadcast by the UNN? What could it be…I better punch it on the main screen and keep my heads down at the same time.

…I hope Ain is alright. Where could she be?

[Jingle]

Television Broadcast: ...and now for our national news; broadcasting LIVE from the Utopian Federation Senate Hall with Utopia's top announcer...Ume Modoki.

Madcap Murdock: …can you be quieter over there for a moment?! I am trying to find clues on whatever Scrolls we are looking for!

Ain Khairi: Oh…just continue reading those damn books and quit complaining. This is a special LIVE broadcast and I bet it’s something important!

Madcap Murdock: why not worry about our situation right now. The upper level are crawling with killers who may eventually find their way into our hideout!

Ain Khairi: I am worried…about Kanbei…

Madcap Murdock: Then we better find that scroll…fast!

[Jingle]

Television Broadcast: ...and now for our national news; broadcasting LIVE from the Utopian Federation Senate Hall with Utopia's top announcer...Ume Modoki.

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

Nihja: Huh…wha…are we there yet? (Yawns)

Milkshake: Sorry boss, I’ve just intercepted a broadcast coming in from the Utopian News Network. It’s a global airing.

Nihja: Punch it in…by the way how far more are we from our camp point?

Kluang: About four more hours. No offence but these Titans has the speed equal to that of a desert camel.

Nihja: Well, there’s no need to go out hiding too far away from our main objectives. All eyes and ears guys, Winterberry is putting up a show for us.

Kanon: Is it possible if Task Force One had been engaged by the enemy.

Nihja: …if they do, that means Task Force One is being spotted by the Utopian Fleet.

Kanon: There is no radio contact made within the rebel channel. If they do get under attack, they are being awfully quiet about it.

Kluang: Either that or…

Nihja: …they are disobeying orders. Let’s confirm this with what Winterberry has to say…

Mikshake: There goes my overnight camp in the open desert.
